According to the report of the Interfax news agency, Ruslan Khasanov, the director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Evaluation Center," announced that the export of grain crops through the ports of the Krasnodar Territory in January-September 2024 exceeded 41 million tons.
Khasanov noted that the specialists of the testing laboratories of the Novorossiysk branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Evaluation Center" sent over 41 million tons of Russian grain for export through the ports of the Krasnodar Territory in the first 9 months of 2024, which is 3% more than in the same period last year.
Wheat accounted for 83% of the total volume of grain exports, while barley accounted for 10%.
In January-September 2024, specialists examined 34 million tons of wheat intended for export, which is 4% more than in the same period last year.
Grain from the ports of the Krasnodar Territory is supplied to more than 60 countries. The main importers include Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Bangladesh, Algeria, Libya, Kenya, Yemen, Pakistan, Israel, Indonesia, countries of the Middle East and Far East, as well as Africa, Asia, the European Union, and South, Central, and North America.
Russian wheat was first delivered to Gambia, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, and Mauritius in many years. Almost 390 thousand tons of wheat were sent to Ethiopia, which is 8 times more than the wheat export to this country for the whole 2022. 410.6 thousand tons of wheat were directed to Sri Lanka, which is 6 times more than in the entire 2021. More than 47.4 thousand tons of oats were shipped to China, which is 28 times more than the export for the entire 2022. Nearly 154 thousand tons of wheat were sent to Djibouti. More than 54 thousand tons of wheat were sent to Gambia, which is 9 times more than the wheat export to this country for the whole 2021.
Prestigious Russian ports such as Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Yeysk, Temryuk, Kavkaz, and Taman are located in the Krasnodar Territory. They play an important role in the foreign trade and transit transportation of goods processed by the seaports of the Russian Federation.
