Grain exports from Kazakhstan to Afghanistan decreased threefold

In 2023, Kazakhstan reduced its grain exports to Afghanistan to 88.15 thousand tons, which is 3.3 times less than in the previous season. In November, shipments decreased from 119 to 39.54 thousand tons. Afghanistan is the third largest importer of wheat from Kazakhstan, after Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

In September-November 2023, Kazakhstan exported only 88.15 thousand tons of grain to Afghanistan, which is 3.3 times less than in the same period last season (295.2 thousand tons).

Shipments decreased especially in November - from 119 thousand tons in 2022 to 39.54 thousand tons in 2023.

Afghanistan ranks third in the ranking of the main importers of Kazakh wheat, second only to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
