Egypt plans to provide space for the establishment of an international center for storing and trading grain in order to combat the food crisis. This was stated by Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the President of the Arab Republic, during his speech at the G20 summit in New Delhi, as reported by TASS.
In order to address the food crisis, Egypt has announced its readiness to host an international grain storage and trading center with the support of its development partners.
The initiative to create such a center in Egypt was first proposed by Sameh Shoukry, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, during the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
Another significant step was the joining of the African Union to the G20 group, which the President of Egypt also highly appreciated.
Al-Sisi announced that during Egypt's chairmanship of the steering committee of the "New Partnership for Africa's Development," specific goals were set to support the continent, such as accelerating the implementation of the Africa development program, activating the free trade agreement, mobilizing resources for infrastructure, energy, communications, and food security, as well as addressing the debt crisis.
The President of Egypt emphasized that all these measures will allow African countries to actively influence international politics and the economy.
He also expressed his gratitude for the expansion of African representation in the G20 group.
