Early spring crops in Belarus were sown on 28.1% of the area, BelTA informs with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
As of April 11, sowing of early spring cereals and leguminous crops (without corn, buckwheat and millet) was carried out on an area of 182.9 thousand hectares, or 28.1% of the plan.
In the Brest region, sowing was carried out on 72.5% of the planned areas, Vitebsk - 0.22%, Gomel - 26.3%, Grodno - 69.3%, Minsk - 14.8%, Mogilev - 3.41%. Soil preparation for sowing also continues, 276.9 thousand hectares have already been prepared (42.6% of the plan).
Early spring cereals and leguminous crops are planned to be sown this year on an area of 650.4 thousand hectares, corn for grain - on 265.3 thousand hectares. This year, agricultural organizations, peasant (farm) enterprises must ensure grain production in the amount of 8.877 million tons.
