An experiment on the introduction of drones in agriculture will be implemented in the Altai Territory.

According to a government decree signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the experiment will allow the use of unmanned aerial systems for pest control in agriculture under special legal regimes. During the experiment, special regulatory conditions will apply in the participating regions - experimental legal regimes for the operation of unmanned aircraft systems. This will allow such flights to be carried out without unnecessary regulatory burden, will make working with agrochemicals safer for humans and will expand the geography of their use.

As Interfax was told by the press service of the non-profit organization NTI Platform (Moscow), the head of which Dmitry Peskov visited the Altai Territory in the spring and became familiar with the use of drones by the Altai State Agrarian University and local agricultural enterprises, the use of UAVs will contribute to the creation of effective business models.

“The Altai Territory is one of the largest grain producers in Russia and has great potential for further development of agricultural production. The introduction of an EPR (experimental legal regime - IF) in the region will allow operators of unmanned aerial systems not only to practice the use of drones, but also to build effective business models ", noted the press service.

The work on introducing plant protection products as part of the experiment will be carried out, in particular, by companies from the Aeronet NTI market, including Agrimax.Aero, Aeromax-Avia (South) and Optiplain Aerodynamics.

“According to Aeronet market experts, the use of drones in Russian agriculture will save more than 500 billion rubles per year, if we take into account arable land with an area of 80 million hectares. In 2023, the cultivated area in Russia occupied 81.203 million hectares,” they reported in the press service of the NTI Platform.
