In the Belgorod region, farmers harvested a record harvest of winter wheat

Belgorod farmers have completed harvesting winter wheat. This year they collected a record harvest of crops, even in comparison with the high results of last year, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his page on the social network.

The average yield this year was 57.2 centners per hectare. This figure was achieved despite the fact that last year half of the areas planned for sowing were not sown due to weather.

— I am confident that in general this year will show the most worthy results. Our farmers have always been one of the best in the Russian Federation, and their success is a guarantee that the food program is being implemented, that the food security of our country will be ensured,” said the head of the region.
