Production of flour, bread, rice and buckwheat decreased in Russia in April

In April 2023, meat production and some types of meat products increased by 5.8% compared to April 2022, but decreased by 4.4% compared to March 2023. Dairy production decreased by 3.1% compared to April 2022.

Food production in April 2023 increased by 5.4% compared to April 2022, but decreased by 5.5% compared to March 2023. In general, in January-April 2023, food production increased by 4.9% compared to January-April 2022.

Increased production of meat and some types of meat products

Meat of cattle, pork, lamb, goat meat, horse meat and other animals in April 2023 produced 290.2 thousand tons, which is 5.8% more than in April 2022, but 4.4% less than in March 2023. Production in January-April 2023 increased by 8.7% compared to January-April 2022, amounting to 1.2 million tons.

263.6 thousand tons of steam, chilled or chilled pork were produced, which is 5.1% more than in April 2022, but 4.5% less than in March 2023. In January-April 2023, the production of steam, chilled or chilled pork increased by 8.5% compared to the same period in 2022, amounting to 1.0 million tons.

293.4 thousand tons of chilled poultry meat were produced, which is 4.9% more than in April 2022, but 2.6% less than in March 2023. In January-April 2023, the production of chilled poultry meat increased by 4.4% compared to January-April 2022, amounting to 1.2 million tons.

133.8 thousand tons of boiled sausages were produced, which is 1.9% less than in April 2022, but 2.8% more than in March 2023. In the first four months of 2023, 511.1 thousand tons of cooked sausages were produced, which is 1.1% less than in the same period in 2022.

384.7 thousand tons of meat and meat-containing semi-finished products, chilled or frozen, were produced, which is 7.3% more than in April 2022, but 2.2% less than in March 2023. In January-April 2023, they produced 1.5 million tons, which is 7.4% more than in the first four months of 2022.

Increased production of certain types of dairy products

In April 2023, 466.7 thousand tons of milk were produced, which is 3.1% and 5.2% less than in April 2022 and March 2023, respectively. In the first four months of 2023, milk production decreased by 2.2% compared to January-April 2022, amounting to 1.9 million tons.

28.1 thousand tons of butter were produced, which is 6.5% more than in April 2022, but 4.0% less than in March 2023. In January-April 2023, butter production increased by 9.5% compared to January-April 2022, amounting to 106.3 thousand tons.

62.1 thousand tons of cheese were produced, which is 22.2% more than in April 2022, and 5.4% less than in March 2023. In January-April 2023, cheese production increased by 16.4% compared to January-April 2022, amounting to 245.1 thousand tons.

38.1 thousand tons of cottage cheese were produced, which is 6.3% less than in April 2022, but 3.7% more than in March 2023. In January-April 2023, the production of cottage cheese decreased by 6.7% compared to January-April 2022, amounting to 148.8 thousand tons.

46.9 thousand tons of sour cream were produced, which is 9.1% and 3.0% more than in April 2022 and March 2023, respectively. In January-April 2023, sour cream production increased by 7.6% compared to the same period in 2022, amounting to 183.8 thousand tons.

Decreased production of flour, bread, rice and buckwheat

The production of wheat and wheat-rye flour in April 2023 amounted to 695.8 thousand tons, which is 11.5% less than in April 2022, and 5.3% less than in March 2023. In January-April 2023, 2.8 million tons of flour were produced, which is 4.1% lower than in January-April 2022.

412.4 thousand tons of non-durable bakery products were baked, which is less than in April 2022 and March 2023 by 2.0% and 1.8%, respectively. In January-April 2023, the output of non-durable bakery products decreased by 1.2% compared to January-April 2022, amounting to 1.6 million tons.

113.9 thousand tons of pasta were produced, which is 20.6% and 9.6% less than in April 2022 and March 2023, respectively. In January-April 2023, the output of pasta decreased by 10.3% compared to January-April 2022, amounting to 474.5 thousand tons.

Rice produced 39.9 thousand tons, which is 21.9% and 26.8% less than in April 2022 and March 2023, respectively. In January-April 2023, rice production decreased by 10.1% compared to the same period in 2022, amounting to 175.1 thousand tons.

Buckwheat - 39.7 thousand tons, which is 22.0% less than in April 2022, and 25.6% less than in March 2023. In the first four months of 2023, buckwheat production increased by 0.8% compared to January-April 2022, amounting to 180.1 thousand tons.

Increased production of sunflower oil and its fractions

581.9 thousand tons of unrefined sunflower oil and its fractions were produced, which is 0.8% more than in April 2022, but 5.1% less than in March 2023. In January-April 2023, 2.2 million tons of unrefined sunflower oil and its fractions were produced, which is 4.5% more than for analogues
