In the Altai Territory, sugar beets are successfully grown and processed, which makes it the only such region in Siberia, Governor of the Altai Territory Viktor Tomenko wrote on his Telegram channel.
Local farmers believe that high skills are needed for a successful harvest, and their efforts are paying off: the annual harvest exceeds 1 million tons.
This year, sugar beet was planted on an area of 23,000 hectares. Agricultural enterprises from the Pavlovsky and Kalmansky districts have already started harvesting, which is then sent for processing to the CHEREMNOVSKY sugar factory.
