Despite the fact that agriculture in Germany is suffering from high prices for fertilizers and energy, the cost of grain has fallen sharply. However, prices continue to rise in the pig sector. Der Spiegel writes about this, citing a statement by Farm President Joachim Rukwid.
“With wheat, we had a short peak of over 350 euros per ton, now prices have collapsed again to around 240 euros per ton. The only exception is the pig sector, which is emerging from a deep crisis,” said Rookweed.
According to him, the increase in pork prices was also due to the fact that the production itself in the country has sharply decreased. In addition, it can already be seen that there are fewer and fewer goods on the market.
He added that now the costs of logistics, energy, wages and other parameters are already included in the final cost of products, so prices have gone up.
On June 20, the newspaper Der Spiegel wrote that German residents believe that real inflation in the country is three times higher than indicated in official statistics. The publication explained that the false sensations of citizens are due to the fact that they most often buy certain goods for themselves and are guided by these prices. For example, it can be food, drinks, gasoline and other goods.
