More than ninety percent of the harvested Siberian wheat is food grade. Deputy Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Center for Grain Quality Assessment" Maria Shostak announced this at a briefing.

In the Siberian Federal District, soft wheat production as of September 25 amounted to four million tons, of which 93 percent was of food grade. At the same time, farmers of the Krasnoyarsk Territory managed to grow over five thousand tons of second-class grain.

“As for the export of Russian grain and its processed products, as of September 21 it amounted to 20.8 million tons, of which 13.5 million tons of wheat,” noted Marina Shostak. - Maximum September volumes, according to issued phytosanitary certificates, were shown by China, Latvia, Indonesia and Yemen. 791 thousand tons of grain and processed products were sent abroad from Siberia, of which 205 thousand tons were wheat. In September, the Altai Territory became the leader in the export of grain products from the Siberian Federal District - 83 thousand tons. There is active demand from both regular buyers and countries where there were no Russian grain exports last season. Thus, 500 tons of lentils were shipped to India, and 2.8 thousand tons of barley were shipped to Latvia.

In addition, according to data as of September 21, in the 2023-2024 agricultural year, Russian farmers exported 22 thousand tons of buckwheat. This is 54 percent more than the volumes of the same period last year. Over 60 percent of buckwheat was exported from the Siberian Federal District (Altai Territory, Novosibirsk Region, Republic of Khakassia, Krasnoyarsk Territory and Omsk Region) and about 30 percent from the Primorsky Territory.
