About the quality of the grain of the new crop

According to the preliminary assessment of the grain quality of the new crop of 2023, 5,594.7 thousand tons of wheat grains were examined, accounting for 18.7% of the total harvest. The results of the inspection in different regions are as follows: in the Central Federal District (CFD) - 11.5 thousand tons (19.8%), in the Southern Federal District (SFD) - 1,739.4 thousand tons (89.9%), in the North Caucasus Federal District (NCFD) - 2,121.5 thousand tons (74.6%), and in the Volga Federal District (VFD) - 577.7 thousand tons (76.2%). Barley grains were also examined, amounting to 215.1 thousand tons or 21.9% of the total harvest. In the SFD, 35.5 thousand tons (16.5%) were identified, and in the VFD - 0.2 thousand tons (100%). These results refer to voluntarily tested grain batches in certain regions.

According to the data on the preliminary assessment of the quality of the grain of the new crop of 2023, obtained on the basis of the results of laboratory tests of its samples carried out on a reimbursable basis by specialists from the testing laboratories of the branches of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhozcenter" in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, wheat grains were examined - 5594.7 thousand tons or 18, 7% of the gross harvest (29893.8 thousand tons according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the surveyed regions), 6220 samples, of which:

wheat of the 1st class - 0.2 thousand tons (with a gluten content of 32% and more, group I IDK) or 0.004% of the examined wheat grain;
wheat of the 2nd class - 1.2 thousand tons (with a gluten content of 28% or more, group I IDK) or 0.02% of the examined wheat grain;

wheat of the 3rd class - 1103.0 thousand tons (with a gluten content of 23% or more, I - II group IDK) or 19.7% of the examined wheat grain;

wheat of the 4th class (with a gluten content from 18 to 22%, I - II group IDK) - 3345.6 thousand tons or 59.8% of the examined wheat grain;

Grade 5 wheat - 1144.5 thousand tons or 20.5% of the examined grain, including:

in the Central Federal District - 58.4 thousand tons, of which wheat of 1-4 classes was detected - 11.5 thousand tons, which is - 19.8% of the examined wheat grain;

in the Southern Federal District - 1933.8 thousand tons, of which wheat of 1-4 classes was detected - 1739.4 thousand tons, which is 89.9% of the examined wheat grain;

in the North Caucasian Federal District - 2844.3 thousand tons, of which wheat of 1-4 classes was detected - 2121.5 thousand tons, which is -74.6% of the examined wheat grain;

in the Volga Federal District - 758.2 thousand tons, of which wheat of 1-4 classes was detected - 577.7 thousand tons, which is 76.2% of the examined wheat grain;

Barley, examined - 215.1 thousand tons or 21.9% of the gross harvest in the surveyed regions (980.3 thousand tons), or 538 samples of barley, of which:

in the Southern Federal District - 214.9 thousand tons, of which barley of the 1st class was detected - 35.5 thousand tons, which is -16.5% of the examined barley grain in the region;

in the Volga Federal District - 0.2 thousand tons, of which barley of the 1st class was detected - 0.2 thousand tons, which is - 100.0% of the examined barley grain in the region;

  Note. This information is provisional and applies only to the current moment and to voluntarily inspected grain lots in some regions. The results cannot be extended to the quality of all produced products in the country, due to the small percentage of grain examined.
