Lipetsk farmers harvested 83 thousand tons of peas for the first time in 15 years

In the Lipetsk region, the grain and legume harvesting campaign is coming to an end

Agrarians of the Lipetsk region have almost completed harvesting grain and leguminous crops. So far, experts have collected 3.5 million tons. All that remains is to thresh the corn, the press service of the regional government reported. In addition, agricultural workers broke a record. For the first time in the last 15 years, the region received 83 thousand tons of peas.

“Increased interest in this crop is caused, among other things, because it is planned to build a plant for advanced processing of peas in the region,” noted Alexey Telkov, head of the agricultural department. – The raw material base is being prepared.

2.4 million tons of wheat and 805 thousand tons of barley were sent to warehouses. They are working on corn in 14 regions. So far, out of 65 thousand hectares, farmers have cultivated 7.8 thousand hectares of fields.
