Corn imports to EU countries fell by 40%

In the European Union, 5.067 million tonnes of corn were imported over 16 weeks, which is 40% less than last year.

Over the sixteen weeks of the current season, EU countries imported 5.067 million tons of corn, which is 40% less than the same period last season. This was reported by the Zerno On-Line agency with reference to the European Commission.

Brazil remains the largest supplier of corn to the European Union (2.248 million tons). It is followed by Ukraine (2.211 million tons) and Canada (0.220 million tons).

Supplies of imported corn go mainly to Spain (2.104 million tons), the Netherlands (0.675 million tons), Italy (0.617 million tons)
