Azerbaijan in January-June increased wheat imports from Russia by 1.5 times, from Kazakhstan - by 27%

Azerbaijan increased its wheat imports from Russia and Kazakhstan in January-June 2023. Imports from Russia rose by 49.6% to 348,644 thousand tons, while imports from Kazakhstan increased by 26.7% to 144,565 thousand tons.

Azerbaijan increased wheat imports from Russia and Kazakhstan in January-June 2023, the State Statistics Committee told Interfax-Azerbaijan.

According to statistics, wheat imports from Russia increased by 49.6% - up to 348.644 thousand tons. In total, in January-June, Russia delivered wheat to Azerbaijan in the amount of $96 million 455.97 thousand (an increase of 12%). Thus, a ton of Russian wheat was supplied to Azerbaijan at a price of $276.66.

Deliveries from Kazakhstan amounted to 144,565 thousand tons (an increase of 26.7%) in the amount of $49 million 109 thousand (an increase of 26.8%). On average, a ton of Kazakh wheat cost Azerbaijan $339.7.

In general, Russia accounted for 70.7% of wheat imports to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan - 29.3%.

As previously reported, in January-June Azerbaijan imported wheat in the amount of 493.21 thousand tons (an increase of 23.1%) wheat in the amount of $145 million 565.1 thousand (an increase of 1.8%). The average price per ton of wheat was $295.1.
