Sunflower reserves have decreased in Kazakhstan

Reserves of sunflower seeds in Kazakhstan by October 1 of this year. amounted to 322 thousand tons. This is 112 thousand tons lower than the July figure and 190 thousand tons less than reserves at the same date last year. APK-Inform reports this with reference to official statistics.

Total as of October 1 of this year. In Kazakhstan, 967 thousand tons of oilseeds were available, including 330 thousand tons of flax, 163 thousand tons of rapeseed, 99 thousand tons of safflower, 36 thousand tons of soybeans.

As APK-Inform previously reported, according to estimates from the National Association of Oilseed Processors, due to dry weather conditions and lack of precipitation during the growing season in the main sowing regions, the sunflower harvest may be reduced by 30-40% and will not exceed 850 thousand tons. This is 17% less than last year.
