According to the representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Ural Federal District, an increase in crop yield is expected in the Urals in 2024 compared to the previous year, despite unfavorable weather conditions.

The Plenipotentiary Representative Vladimir Yakushev noted that although the harvesting speed is being delayed due to climatic conditions, it is hoped that farmers will be able to make up for it when the weather improves. It is expected that this year's yield will be higher than last year's.

He also emphasized that the harvesting of crops is proceeding in a normal mode, and the regions are provided with the necessary equipment and have fuel reserves.

As of now, according to data as of September 3, almost 400 thousand hectares of grains and legumes have already been harvested in the Urals. In addition, about 850 thousand tons of grain, 58 thousand tons of potatoes, and 15 thousand tons of vegetables have been harvested.

It was previously reported that the sowing campaign in the Urals was delayed due to unfavorable weather conditions. The agrometeorological forecast of the Hydrometeorological Center indicated that the conditions for ripening of spring grains and the beginning of harvesting, as well as for sowing winter grains for the 2025 harvest, will be unfavorable due to frequent rains and high soil and air humidity.
