Poland has reduced the area under rapeseed for the 2024/25 harvest

According to Sparks Polska estimates, the sown area of rapeseed for the 2024/25 harvest in Poland is about 950-980 thousand hectares, while the oilseed area for the harvest of this year. 1.1 million hectares were sown.

This reduction is explained by “unattractive” prices for rapeseed. In general, it is possible that the price factor may reduce rapeseed crops in other EU countries after reaching a five-year maximum in 2023.

It is also reported that the winter wheat sowing campaign in Poland is taking place under favorable weather conditions, and the grain sowing area is expected to be at the level of the previous season.
