Export of vegetable oils from Kazakhstan to China increased by 70%

Kazakhstan is increasing its exports of goods to China by rail. Grain exports have tripled to 1 million tons. The growth in vegetable oil exports to China is even more significant, reaching 75,000 tons, which is a 70% increase. The total volume of rail transportation between the countries amounted to 13.7 million tons, which is 26% more than the same period last year.

Kazakhstan is increasing the export of goods to China by rail. Thus, according to KTZ, 8.3 million tons of various cargoes were transferred from Kazakhstan to China in the first half of 2023. This is 37% more than in the six months of the previous year, the press service of KTZ reported.

In particular, the export of grain cargo increased 3 times, up to 1 million tons. The growth in exports of vegetable oils to China is even more significant - by 70% to 75 thousand tons.

Import of goods to Kazakhstan from China in January-June 2023 increased by 13%, to 5.4 million tons.

The total volume of rail transport between the countries amounted to 13.7 million tons, which is 26% more than in the same period last year.

Joint measures and well-coordinated work of teams of border stations of the two countries contribute to an increase in the volume of cargo transportation by rail through border crossings with China, KTZ noted.

As APK-Inform previously reported, Yadykar Ibragimov, Chairman of the Board of NAPMK, estimates the potential for exports of oil and fat products from Kazakhstan to China for the next 3 years at $300 million. At the same time, it was noted that in order to realize the existing opportunities, it is necessary to solve problems in the logistics sector.
