In Russia, egg prices are expected to start decreasing thanks to the recommendations of the regulatory body. Major producers have agreed to lower wholesale prices, which will lead to a decrease in retail prices. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) will monitor the implementation of the recommendations to prevent collusion and anti-monopoly violations. The rise in egg prices since the beginning of the year has been significant, leading to antimonopoly investigations in ten regions. Egg imports have been introduced without duties, and domestic production has been increased to stabilize prices.

In 2024, the "FSH" project will be implemented in Kyrgyzstan. It is planned to reduce the interest rate from 12% to 10%. The rate of 6% for financing the agro-industrial complex will also remain. The state provides support to farmers in the issues of drip irrigation and land use.

Despite the continuation of the grain deal, many ships from Turkey are not reaching Ukraine due to slow inspections. Maritime inspections are holding back around 40 dry cargo vessels, which is slowing down deliveries. Russia denies the accusations of blocking the Ukrainian port of Yuzhny.

Sugar production in January 2024 increased by 48.15%, reaching 548,670 tons, whereas in January 2023, 370,358 tons were produced. In the previous month, the volume was 1,090,553 tons.

Rosstat reported that in 2023 the yield of agricultural crops in Russia decreased: wheat by 10.4%, barley by 8.3%, while corn, on the contrary, increased by 15.6%. In total, the yield of grain and leguminous crops amounted to 31 quintals per hectare.

Russian pork will begin to be exported to China starting from February 29. Companies like Miratorg and Rusagro are already prepared for shipments, while other enterprises refuse to comment on their plans. Rosselkhoznadzor has previously approved the deliveries, which will start after the Chinese New Year.

ACCORD calls for the cancellation of the export duty on grain, considering it as the reason for the decrease in profitability and the outflow of personnel from agriculture. Experts support the idea of maintaining the duty, but with the establishment of an adequate base price based on global indicators.

India has allowed the export of rice to Singapore, emphasizing the close relationship between the countries and compliance with food safety requirements. This step was taken after a request from Singapore and other countries.

Cuba is considering the possibility of concluding deals for exporting grain from the Rostov region. The director of the branch of the grain quality assessment center emphasized Cuba's interest in corn and oils from this region. The supplies meet Cuba's requirements, making cooperation promising.

USDA forecast: Africa, the Middle East, China, Southeast and West Asia, Latin America will increase global food trade. China will lead global soybean imports. Increased demand for corn, sorghum, and barley. Russian exports to China will increase, especially of seed crops.

Grain exports from Russia are growing despite export quotas. Within 10 days of February, 1.87 million tons of grain were shipped, with corn increasing by 20.7%. The export forecast for the current year has been raised to 67 million tons, including 55 million tons of wheat. Grain purchases by Egypt and Turkey decreased, but increased in Oman and Kenya.

India has allowed sugar mills to convert 1.7 million tons of sugar into ethanol due to drought in Maharashtra and Karnataka. Restrictions have been imposed for the current marketing year on processing sugarcane juice and molasses into ethanol. Sugar stocks should be sufficient for the domestic market. The decision will support sector investments and offset uneven rainfall.
