The majestic buckwheat is the highlight of the region, as it accounts for almost 56% of the total volume of production of major cereal products.
The nature of the Altai region itself is so fertile and fruitful that a multitude of various crops thrive abundantly: lentils, wheat, flax, sunflowers, and sugar beets, but none of them can compare in terms of sown areas with the noble buckwheat.
It should be noted that last year, an incredible volume of production of major cereal products in the beautiful Altai region amounted to an astonishing 480 thousand tons. Amazingly, proud buckwheat groats account for the majority of this volume - almost 56%. Furthermore, the Altai Territory holds a significant share of the Russian buckwheat market, ranging from 50% to 60%.
Caring farmers especially love buckwheat because it can be sown in June and yield a rich and abundant harvest.
