"Stavropol Krai: record sunflower harvest promotes oil exports and ensures food security"

This year, the area sown with sunflowers in our region reached about 257.9 thousand hectares. Sunflower oil is supplied to both the domestic market of the Stavropol Krai and to the markets of other regions of Russia.

"Sunflower occupies one of the leading positions among oilseed crops that are exported. Since the beginning of the year, we have already exported about 39.7 thousand tons of sunflower oil from the Stavropol Krai. This result is due to the high quality of our products and the increasing demand for them," emphasized Artem Ilyin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the region.

The head of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, noted that the sunflower crop in Stavropol plays an important role in ensuring the country's food security. Additionally, this crop contributes to the sustainability of agriculture due to the diversity of production.
