Russian Railways increased the volume of fertilizers transportation within the country by 2.8% in the first quarter of 2024.

According to the latest data, in the first three months of 2024, 8.9 million tons of fertilizers were shipped within the country through the Russian Railways network, which is 2.8% higher than last year. The total volume of fertilizer loading on the Russian Railways network in the first quarter amounted to 17.1 million tons (+12.1%). The largest volumes were loaded in the Perm Krai (4.6 million tons, +59.8%), Murmansk Oblast (3.7 million tons, +3.2%), and Novgorod Oblast (1.3 million tons, +4.6%). In the first quarter of 2024, fertilizer exports amounted to 8.2 million tons (+24.4%). 6.7 million tons were shipped through seaport stations (+31%), and 1.5 million tons through border crossings (+1.7%).
