One of the largest sugar factories in the Tambov region plans to supply products to China

Four companies from Tambov, including a sugar factory, have applied to export their products to China. However, in order to be included in the list of exporters, they need to meet strict requirements such as the absence of GMOs and separate storage of the products. The factory has already built a specialized warehouse for this purpose. Currently, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance is analyzing the finished products from the factory, and if successful, it will have a positive impact on the reputation of the Tambov region.

Producers from the Tambov region are looking to expand their export opportunities by looking towards China. Local companies are applying to be included in the register of exporters of products to this country, Vesti Tambov reports. Currently, there are already four enterprises cooperating with China, and one of the largest sugar factories in the region is also striving to join this list. The question of whether they meet the requirements of the Chinese side is being studied by Rosselkhoznadzor.

The Tambov sugar factory annually sends more than 100 thousand tons of granulated sugar throughout Russia. As a result of beet processing, in addition to sugar, beet pulp is obtained, which is used as livestock feed. The average annual production of pulp is about 30 thousand tons.

The sugar factory is already registered in the Cerberus system for the countries of the customs union, Germany, Morocco and the Netherlands. Nevertheless, in view of the development prospects, the plant decided to expand the list of partners and enter the Chinese market. China is among the top 10 largest beet pulp consumers in the world.

However, in order to enter the Chinese market, importers must meet a number of strict requirements. These include the complete absence of GMOs and organisms harmful to the biological environment, as well as the need for separate storage of products. In particular, the plant has built a specialized warehouse with an area of 5,000 square meters, where up to 20,000 tons of pulp can be stored simultaneously.

Now the plant has to wait for the start of the season and provide samples of finished products for analysis. The results of the analysis will be published in an open database, and a further decision will be made by the Chinese side.

Based on preliminary experience, representatives of Rosselkhoznadzor believe that the Chinese partners, most likely, will not engage in nit-picking. Accredited laboratories in China are of a high standard, which guarantees compliance with all phytosanitary requirements from the moment of origin of products to their final consumption.

If the plant manages to get a contract, this will have a positive impact not only on its own reputation, but also on the prestige of the Tambov region as a whole. This will confirm the high quality of local products that can compete not only in the domestic Russian market, but also internationally.
