The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia has distributed an additional part of tariff quotas for the export of grain among participants in foreign trade activities. This part of the quota relates to the export of wheat and meslin, barley, rye, and corn, totaling 150,087,762 kg.
The distribution of the additional part was based on applications from organizations that had previously received the main part of the quota for the export of grain.
In accordance with the resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation dated December 23, 2023, the main part of the tariff quotas for the export of wheat and meslin, rye, barley, and corn to other states not being members of the Eurasian Economic Union was set for the period from February 15 to June 30, 2024, totaling 24 million tons. Later, it was distributed among 261 exporters by the order of the Ministry of Agriculture dated February 7.
The size of the additional quota in 2024 is formed from two parts. The first part constitutes 10% of the total volume of the main part of the tariff quotas, and the second part will be formed in April taking into account voluntary waivers of the sizes already distributed from the main part of the quota.
At the same time, the volume of the additional part of the tariff quotas granted to the applicant cannot exceed 45% of the size of the main part of the tariff quotas that was allocated to the applicant in February.
