China acquires Russian soybeans at reduced prices
In an effort to achieve more favorable prices, China is turning away from Russian winter wheat, preferring to purchase it on advantageous terms. This information was shared by the head of the Russian Grain Union, Arkady Zlochevsky.
According to him, China has already been able to purchase Russian soybeans without the use of genetically modified organisms at a price similar to genetically modified soybeans, although the latter is cheaper on the global market.
China also imports spring wheat, rapeseed, and peas, but the quantities of these vegetables are insignificant, as Russia's main export product is winter wheat.
It is worth noting that China has established strict phytosanitary requirements for Russian winter wheat, while acquiring the same wheat from Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
