Russian barley exports to China sharply increased in 2024, rising more than thirteen times compared to the previous year. Forecasts show that by 2030, it will reach 1 million tons per year.
According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China provided by the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Agroexport," the volume of Russian barley supplies to China in the first two months of 2024 increased by more than 13.4 times compared to the same period last year, reaching over 180 thousand tons. In monetary terms, exports grew by 10.6 times ($43 million), as stated in a report published on sfera.fm. Experts predict further export growth in the coming years.
According to the estimates of "Agroexport," potential Russian barley supplies to China by 2030 are estimated at around 1 million tons worth over 200 million dollars. Opportunities to expand Russian barley exports to China will be discussed by businessmen and industry representatives during a business mission to China.
