Export of plant meals from Russia increased by 44% in July 2024: China is in the lead, while Latvia reduced purchases by 96%.

In July 2024, the export of vegetable meal from Russia reached 507 thousand tons, increasing by 44% compared to the previous year. Shipments to China grew to 170.4 thousand tons, but decreased to Latvia.

The export of rapeseed meal decreased to 22.2 thousand tons, while deliveries of soybean meal amounted to 73.4 thousand tons.

In July 2024, the export of various plant meals from Russia reached 507 thousand tons, exceeding the figure of the same period last year by 44%. According to the Oilseeds Union of Russia, this is a remarkable achievement.

According to the report, the export of sunflower meal and cake increased by 82% to 441.5 thousand tons in July. It is important to note a significant growth in deliveries to China, reaching 170.4 thousand tons compared to 29.2 thousand tons last year. China became the largest importer, followed by Turkey with purchases amounting to 113.7 thousand tons (+39%) and Belarus with purchases of 86.9 thousand tons (+71%). However, Latvia noted a decrease in shipments by 96% to 1.5 thousand tons.

Meanwhile, in July, there was a decrease in the export of rapeseed meal and cake to 22.2 thousand tons compared to 40.5 thousand tons in July 2023. Deliveries to Germany, France, Denmark, Lithuania, and Latvia ceased, but exports to Morocco and Turkey began. China purchased 5.7 thousand tons of rapeseed meal, which is 26% less than last year.

The volume of soybean meal shipments in July was 73.4 thousand tons, which is 9% lower than in July 2023. Belarus took first place in imports with a 62% increase to 24.9 thousand tons. Turkey took second place with a 42% decrease in imports to 21.5 thousand tons. Uzbekistan took third place with a 22% surge in imports to 10.5 thousand tons.
