Cardinal changes have been made to the structure of plant product deliveries from Chuvashia, according to the Rosselkhoznadzor press service.
A significant share of exports this year is represented by grain - 67%, potatoes are in second place with 18%, and onion sets are in third place with 10.5%. Last year, more than half of the deliveries were onion sets, while grains accounted for only 17%.
"Among grain products, the largest volume of shipments is represented by brewing barley (3.3 thousand tons shipped to the Republic of Belarus) and food peas. Chuvash agrarians for the first time this year have supplied 3.2 thousand tons of peas to the food markets of China and Serbia," the department noted.
Rosselkhoznadzor's data show a significant increase in potato export volumes from the republic and an expansion of the geography of importing countries. At the moment, Chuvash agrarians have already shipped 1.8 thousand tons of food potatoes to Serbia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Azerbaijan, as well as 826 tons of seed potatoes to Azerbaijan.
It was previously reported that due to a possible deterioration in winter crops sowing in Chuvashia, an emergency situation regime has been introduced since April 2.
