preferred share

a share, the owner of which has an advantage over the holder of ordinary shares in the distribution of dividends and property of the corporation in the event of its liquidation. P.a. give the right to vote only if the dividend on them is not declared a certain number of times. Usually they do not give the right to vote, but they bring fixed dividends, regardless of the level of profit received by the joint-stock company in a given period. The nominal value of the placed preferred shares must not exceed 25% of the charter capital of the joint-stock company. See also PROMOTION.
