ordinary share

a share on which dividends are paid from the part of the profit remaining after paying a fixed percentage to the holders of preferred shares, that is, in the form of a percentage depending on the amount of profit. Such shares are called so-called. ordinary or fixed dividend stock. The owners of O. a. unlike holders of preference shares, they have the right to vote at the general meeting of shareholders. Therefore O. and. called so. voting, as opposed to preferred shares (without the right to vote). According to Art. 25 of the Federal Law of the Russian Federation "On Joint Stock Companies" dated December 26, 1995, the nominal value of all O. a. society should be the same.
