(Latin index - pointer, list) - an indicator that expresses (usually as a percentage) the ratio of the values of an economic phenomenon. In the index, a certain value (of the previous period, planned) is taken as the base, and the compared value (actual, planned) refers to this base. There are I.: aggregate, average, simple, weighted, basic, chain, growth, growth, etc.
