More and more people around the world are showing interest in halal products, not only Muslims. This is because halal products are considered to be cleaner and higher quality than regular ones. One of the companies that produces halal meat is "UnionPromPtitsa". At the "Agroinvestor: PRO Livestock and Feed" conference, the company's director Andrey Kovalev talked about the advantages of halal products.
Halal meat production involves strict adherence to requirements to ensure that the poultry was alive before slaughter. The company also does not use ingredients that do not comply with the halal standard, such as meat-and-bone meal from swine. Kovalev noted that the company plans to double its production of turkey meat.
According to Kovalev, turkey meat production is one of the fastest-growing segments of the meat industry in Russia, and he expects this growth to continue over the next five years. Turkey meat is not the most popular type of meat in Russia, but it has great export potential. Russian products are known for their high quality and environmental cleanliness, making them in demand in the Middle East and African countries.
For example, Arab countries value Russian products more than those from other manufacturers due to their quality and affordable price. Kovalev also pointed out that Africa and countries in Southeast Asia, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, are promising markets for halal products.
Kovalev believes that producers should develop the production of halal products, including not only turkey meat, but also beef and chicken meat. He thinks it can be a good source of income for the country, given its significant potential. "UnionPromPtitsa" already exports its products to various countries, including CIS countries, Congo, Benin, Hong Kong, and Vietnam.
Overall, halal products continue to gain popularity worldwide, and their export outlook looks promising.
