The growth of production and exports: the agricultural sector of the Oryol region is thriving due to the impact of counter-sanctions.

The President of Russia has imposed an embargo on the import of products from sanctioned countries.

Over the past 10 years, the production of plants, meat, and cheese has grown in the Oryol region. The export of agricultural products has increased by 3.6 times, strengthening the region's positions in the market.

On August 6, 2024, by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, a food embargo was introduced, prohibiting the import of certain products from countries that imposed sanctions against Russia. The Department of Agriculture of the Oryol Region summed up the work of the regional agro-industrial complex over the past ten years in the conditions of counter-sanctions.

Over the past ten years, the Oryol Region has seen a significant increase in production volumes in the field of crop production.

More grain and leguminous crops were harvested - from 2.5 to 4.1 million tons. The production of crops with oilseeds has increased approximately fourfold, indicating a high level of agronomic methods.

Last year, three new greenhouse complexes were put into operation, where 10 thousand tons of cucumbers and tomatoes were produced.

The volume of fruit and berry production has increased to 17.6 thousand tons, which is 2.3 thousand tons more than in 2013.

Additionally, two seed plants were opened, strengthening the foundation for future harvests.

The Oryol Region has achieved significant success in livestock breeding over the past ten years.

Cattle and poultry production has doubled compared to 2013, indicating development in the livestock sector. Two significant investment projects in animal husbandry have taken place, confirming active capital attraction to the region. Over the decade, food production is growing:

Vegetable oil production has increased by 2.9 times, and meat product manufacturing by 5 times, allowing the population to be provided with high-quality food.

Cheesemaking in the Oryol Region is experiencing high demand: cheese production has increased by 15 times due to investment projects and the use of modern technologies. Additionally, butter production has increased by 2.6 times.

Over the past ten years, the export of agro-industrial products from the region has grown by 3.6 times, strengthening the Oryol Region's position as a domestic and international player in the agricultural market.
