Russia is increasing sunflower oil exports by 28% in the first 8 months of 2024.

By the end of 2024, Russia's exports of sunflower oil increased by 28%. Experts estimate it at 3.8 million tons, with the top 3 importers being India, Turkey, and China.

It is forecasted to reach a volume of 5.7 million tons by 2030. Russia has become the world's largest producer, releasing 6.6 million tons in the 2022-2023 season.

The Federal Center "Agroexport" under the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia announced that in the first 8 months of 2024, the export of sunflower oil from Russia increased by 28% compared to the same period in 2023.

Experts estimate Russian sunflower oil exports at 3.8 million tons, with India (35%), Turkey (14%), and China (13%) being the top three largest importers.

Agroexport's forecasts indicate a possible increase in the volume of Russian sunflower oil shipments to 5.7 million tons by 2030.

Over the past two agricultural years, Russia has become the world's leading producer of sunflower oil. In the 2022–2023 season, 6.6 million tons were produced, which is 14% higher than the figures for the 2021–2022 season. According to the data, in the last season, Ukraine (5.7 million tons) and Russia (4.1 million tons) were the key exporters of sunflower oil.
