According to the Ministry of Agriculture's announcement following a meeting with exporters, key destinations for Russian grain exports will be countries in the Middle East and North Africa. The meeting was chaired by Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut on Monday.
In this situation, domestic exporters will focus on the key markets of the Middle East and North Africa, as well as on developing trade relations with India and China, where there is progress in the supply of grain legumes and emerging prospects for grain crops. This information is reported by Interfax.
The meeting participants unanimously agreed that Turkey's refusal to import wheat will not affect Russia's export opportunities.
As has been reported, Turkey announced its intention to restrict wheat imports from June 21 to October 15 of this year.
The Ministry of Agriculture reminded that in the current season, ending on June 30, 2024, the grain export volume will amount to 70 million tons, including 53 million tons of wheat. In the next season, starting from July 1, 2024, the volume of grain exports may decrease to 60 million tons.
