The sown areas under rapeseed continue to increase.

By 2030, Russian exports of rapeseed oil could reach 2 million tons, according to the Federal Center "Agroexport."

"Rapeseed oil has particularly great export potential. According to expert estimates, it currently ranks third in the world in vegetable oil production, behind only palm and soybean oils," the report says.

According to Rosstat, by 2023, the sown areas under spring and winter rapeseed reached 2.1 million tons, which is twice as much as in 2015. The main regions for cultivating this crop are the Siberian and Central Federal Districts, with the majority of rapeseed lands located in the Krasnoyarsk Krai, where 215 thousand hectares are allocated for this purpose.

As reported by the Executive Director of the Fat-and-Oil Union of Russia, Mikhail Maltsev to the magazine "поле.рф", in 2023, the export of rapeseed oil from Russia increased by 58% compared to the previous year, reaching 1.55 million tons. He also noted that the record harvest of oilseeds in 2023 will allow increasing the production of all types of vegetable oils by 5% in 2024.
