It is projected that the export of rapeseed oil from Russia will reach 2 million tons by 2030, according to the Federal Centre "Agroexport".

Rapeseed oil demonstrates an impressive export potential. Experts claim that this oil currently holds the third place in global production of vegetable oils, trailing behind only palm and soybean oils.

According to Rosstat, the sown area for spring and winter rapeseed in 2023 amounted to 2.1 million tons, which is twice the figure from 2015. Leading regions for cultivation of this crop are the Siberian and Central Federal Districts, with the majority of sown areas concentrated in the Krasnoyarsk Krai, covering 215 thousand hectares.

As noted by the Executive Director of the Union of Fat-and-Oil Producers of Russia, Mikhail Maltsev, in 2023, the export of rapeseed oil from Russia increased by 58% compared to the previous year, reaching 1.55 million tons. He also mentioned that the record harvest of oilseeds in 2023 will allow for a 5% increase in total vegetable oil production in 2024.
