ANEC, the association of Brazilian grain exporters, announced that in August of this year, Brazil will export 1.961 million tons of soybean meal, slightly less than the 2.011 million tons exported in July, but still more than the 1.925 million tons shipped in the same period last year.
During the week from July 28 to August 3 of this year, Brazilian exports amounted to 183,200 tons of soybean meal. It is expected that from August 4 to 10, the export quantity of soybean meal will reach 493,300 tons.
The preliminary forecasts of the association indicated that soybean meal exports in July would reach a record 2.4 million tons, surpassing the previous maximum of 2.27 million tons in May of last year.
Most of Brazil's soybean meal exports head to China, accounting for 84% of the shipments. China also imports soybeans themselves from Brazil. Brazilian soy exports to China have increased by 72% since the beginning of this year, reaching 15.9 million tons.
