In 2024, on the backyard expanses of its research centers on agrotechnologies, the company AGROTRADE conducted a total of 313 studies dedicated to winter wheat, winter rapeseed, and methods of their protection. As a result of these studies, 7 new varieties and hybrids were developed, which have the potential for industrial production, as reported by the company's press service.
"Among the 60 wheat varieties studied, two were identified that showed higher drought resistance and the ability to increase yield by 10% - 30% compared to others. These two varieties have already been implemented into production, and it is expected that their yield will increase in 2025. During the rapeseed research, out of 75 hybrids, five were selected that demonstrated better productivity and other important characteristics, such as resistance to cracking and disease resistance. These hybrids have been introduced into production on limited areas and will continue to be studied under commercial conditions," explained Anatoliy Bereza, Deputy Director in charge of seed breeding in the agro-industrial department of the company.
It is also noted that in all studies on protection against harmful organisms and growth regulation in winter rapeseed, the best results were shown by the standard scheme, which has already been successfully tested under production conditions. As for studies on the protection systems of winter wheat, in 2025, 2 herbicidal and 2 fungicidal products will be recommended for production testing.
It is worth noting that the research centers of the AGROTRADE Group are located in the Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions.
