Agrarians in Kuban have started harvesting soybeans, for which more than 197 thousand hectares have been allocated this year. The largest soybean plantings were sown in the Ust-Labinsky, Labinsky, Krymsky, Slavyansky, Vyselkovsky, Krasnoarmeysky, and Novokubansky districts.

In the Krasnodar region, mainly domestic varieties are used for soy cultivation. In the plant breeding department of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, it is noted that these varieties are resistant to drought and high temperatures, allowing them to grow successfully in the climatic conditions of the Krasnodar region. Soybean seed production is carried out by specialists from the V.S. Pustovoit Oilseed Crops Research Institute.

Soy plays an important role among the export-oriented agricultural crops of the Krasnodar region. Last year, the export of this crop reached approximately 3.5 thousand tons, totaling over 1.7 million US dollars.

It is worth noting that in 2023, the soybean harvest in Kuban amounted to 328 thousand tons.
