The buckwheat harvest in Russia this year will decrease, but the prices for buckwheat will remain stable, according to Vladimir Petrichenko. Rice production will increase. A decrease in the production of millet, oats, and a reduction in the sown areas for some crops compared to last year are expected.

Russia has received permission for regular shipments of lentils to India. The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance has confirmed that Russian lentils comply with quarantine requirements, allowing for the exports to begin. In 2024, Russia exported 545,000 tons of legumes to India, which is 23 times more than the previous year.

Kazakhstani analysts have presented a report on the grain market. The price of 3rd class wheat has decreased, as well as that of 4th and 5th class. Durum wheat is priced between 119 and 131 thousand tenge. Barley can be sold, and it is necessary to be prepared for possible price changes. Over 17 million tons of grain have already been harvested, and by the end of the season, they expect 20 million.

Russia has reduced grain exports by 18.7% compared to last year. Wheat exports have decreased by 10.8%. Some countries, including Turkey, Bangladesh, and Saudi Arabia, have also reduced their wheat purchases. Prices on the global markets are rising: French wheat is priced at $246 per ton, American wheat at $248, and Russian wheat at $217. The high demand is expected to have an impact on the domestic market.

Lowering the export duty on palm oil in Indonesia could reduce the price gap between Malaysia and Indonesia, shrinking Malaysia's market share. This will put pressure on processors and lead to price decreases in 2024.

Meanwhile, futures for Malaysian palm oil rose by 3.1% in a week.

Legislators are against new export duties on rapeseed. Meetings with government officials are held to protect farmers from losses. They demand an increase in funding for transportation and the inclusion of the Siberian factor in state support.

In European Russia, warm weather without precipitation persists. In southern regions, drought complicates the sowing of winter crops. In the far east, frosts threaten the harvest. Forecast: sowing of spring crops may suffer from precipitation and cold.

Coceral forecast: the crop of soft wheat will decrease by 7.7 million tonnes. France and Germany will be the most affected, with reductions also affecting Belgium, Denmark, and Sweden.

In the Grain Agency of Tunisia, tenders were held for the purchase of 125,000 tons of soft wheat and 100,000 tons of hard wheat. Companies sold wheat at prices ranging from $245.83 to $247.83 per ton of soft wheat and from $336.5 to $346.49 per ton of hard wheat. The grain will be delivered in October-November.

The ban on the import of agricultural products from Western countries, introduced in 2014, has been extended until the end of 2026 by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation. This decision, characterized as bold and risky, has justified itself by contributing to the development of domestic agriculture.
