treasury bill

a type of securities issued by the state to cover budget expenditures. K.v. are short-term government liabilities. Issued for a period of 3.6 and 12 months, usually to the bearer. They are sold mainly among credit institutions (banks) at a price below the face value (with a discount to the face value), and are redeemed at full face value. Thus, the income of the holder K.v. is equal to the difference between the redemption price (nominal) and the selling price. K.v. This is the main type of short-term obligations of the state. K.v. are usually issued to bearer and do not have interest coupons. Issue and redemption Q.v. produced by central banks on behalf of the treasuries. The buying and selling of these securities in free money markets forms the basis of monetary policy.
